Welcome to Stream Awakening!

We are a middle school science class at George Washington Middle School in Alexandria, Virginia. We are dedicated to preserving our environment, especially the most precious resource on Earth: Water. We have begun a project to rehabilitate one of the many streams in ecological peril in our city. The process will be difficult, but we are determined to make a positive change in our community. Our goal is to restore a stream to its former health and prosperity by removing the litter and trash from the area and performing water quality testing. At the same time we will engage in projects that will benefit the animals of the area and record our progress in a log until these tasks are completed.
